About Clay Zone Land
How It Started
Born from a Restless Night
Clay Zone Land was founded in 2015 by sleep researcher Dr. Aiko Nakamura and product designer Tomohiro Ishida. After years studying the science of sleep and frustration with the mattresses available in Japan, they set out to build something better — a mattress designed specifically for the way Japanese people live, move, and sleep.
Starting with a single showroom in Shibuya, they hand-assembled each mattress and personally delivered every order within Tokyo. Today, Clay Zone Land has grown to serve over 18,000 customers across Japan, but the founding principle remains unchanged: better sleep changes lives.
